Heavy gear or a loaded trailer can make the back of your vehicle sag. The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs add up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support inside your rear coil springs, helping you keep a level stance for safer steering and braking. By taking strain off your stock suspension, they reduce squat, maintain headlight aim, and improve handling when you’re hauling a heavy load.
Every trip puts a different weight on your suspension, so being able to adjust pressure matters. These molded polyurethane air springs let you dial in support anywhere between 5 psi and 35 psi to match your load. Inflate each spring independently—with dual air lines if you choose—for side-to-side leveling when cargo isn’t evenly distributed. Manual Schrader valves are included so making adjustments is quick and straightforward.
Heavy loads can cause sway, bounce, and uneven tire wear. By fitting right inside your rear coil springs, the Air Lift 1000 kit absorbs road shock and helps keep the vehicle planted. The result is steadier control on highways and curves with less bottoming out over bumps. Steering feels more predictable, braking stays even, and the ride is smoother no matter what you’re carrying.
Each air spring is made from tough molded polyurethane that stands up to everyday use. The kit comes with two air springs, heat shields, tubing, Schrader valves, and hardware for installation using standard tools. Once set up, you can count on leak-free operation that holds pressure for the long haul. For even more convenience later on, you can add a compressor system (sold separately) to monitor or adjust air pressure from inside the cab.

Hello, neighbor Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at our Airlift 1000 air helper springs for the rear coil springs. Sorry folks. These are for your rear application. They're also a custom fit application, so I highly, highly recommend you check out our fit guide here at etrailer.com. Make sure you're putting in your year, make and model on our homepage where it says my vehicle or something of that nature, enter your make and model, cab, bed length, anything it asks.
Keep in mind, sometimes this video can be outdated and it could possibly fit newer years as well. That being said, let's get into it. This is gonna provide a thousand pounds of load leveling support. So it's not adding a thousand pounds capacity to your vehicle, it is just giving you a thousand pounds of support. You can adjust these between five PSI minimum all the way up to 35 PSI.
They simply get smashed down and wiggled in between your coil springs, and then that's where they're gonna sit once they're installed. All the instructions that come with it, you shouldn't have any problems, should have no drilling whatsoever required to install these. So it should be a pretty simple installation. Now, like I said, these do keep your vehicle level when you're hauling a heavy load. They also improve steering and braking performance, and they help maintain what we call here at etrailer, a headlight aim, a safe, safe headlight aim.
So if you're squatting in the back, your vehicle's gonna be kind of pushing up your headlights up here in the front, but with the air springs in the back, it's gonna push you back level and now your headlights are pointing level instead of up in the sky. Now, you can manually adjust both the left or the right independently if you so choose, but this is set up to do them or as a system tied in together rather at the same time. Now, I do recommend that you possibly maybe want to add a compressor system that would be sold separately. With that, you can monitor and adjust the air pressure from inside the cab or whatnot, but usually with these guys, you're not doing too much adjusting, so you should be okay. Most likely with just the kit you see here.

The units work great! The ride on my Pathfinder is greatly improved with and without the 2Ton trailer load. Warmth is your best friend. I installed the units on a 30°F day. The units would not fold as necessary to insert into the unsprung coil. I warmed them in a 150°F oven for ten minutes and presto! I was also necessary to warm the ends of the air hose to get them on the fittings. Heat up a cup of water, dip the ends in, shake off the excess water and insert. Don’t forget to put the clamp on first.
Work well. 2022 Pathfinder pulling R-Pod 195. Issue was the Pathfinder has a soft rear & even w/camper & tongue weights well below max, had to use ball mount w/2” rise to keep camper level…& Pathfinder was riding nose-high. Post-install camper & Pathfinder both riding level & handling seems better. Amazed at how leak-proof these things are. We’re in northern WI w/a lot of zero degree winter days & no signs of bladder, hose or connector degradation. Highly recommend soaking bladders in hot water to provide flexibility because they were TOUGH to shoehorn into the springs. Once in though, I give them a firm thumbs up.
The hardest part to the install was figuring how to route the air tubing. Instructions were very clear to follow. They do provide a diagram on were to route the air lines but couldn't figure out how to get there without coming to close to the exhaust and muffler.
Well made and was fairly easy to install. I actually found it was easier to drill a hole into the bottom cushion to run the air line instead of cutting it out. The instructions were very easy to follow. What took the most time was hooking up the hose. I split it into one and ran it out under the bumper on the passenger side. My Durango has dual exhaust so I had to run the tubing up under the body. No leaks after set up and work very well with my rv trailer. Highly recommend.
Installed into the 2011 Toyota Sienna V6 FWD Limited (145k miles) and now is geared up a 2" receiver class II draw-tite hitch package and ready to tow are recently purchased metal 8' x 4'6" tilt-bed trailer, or any occasional heavy payloads in the minivan.
When I had updated my tired 2011 Sienna with new suspension components throughout the vehicle (including lower control arms w/ ball joint(s), transmission/motor mounts, CV drive axles, carrier bearing mount bracket, McPherson struts, rear shocks, brake rotors and pads (front and rear), rear parking brake shoes and hardware, outer tie-rod ends, steering/sway bars links, I discovered a broken, rusty rear, right coil. After all swapped out and four-wheel alignment completed, I opted to add this A1000 air lift kit too.
Yes, plan on a good 5 hours to install. I watched several videos that made it look easy, but the smaller ones won't fold up like a hot dog. I ended up folding it at a diagonal after flattening, and it went in pretty easy. I also warmed them up in the hot sun which I think helped
NO SQUEAKING despite other reviews. I wonder if people that have squeaking issues used some kind of lubricant to get them in. I didn't use any lubricant, and have zero squeaks at any pressure.
Bags came quick and easy to install . I did find that if you remove three bolts, sway bar link , lower control arm and shock and remove the spring it’s a lot easier to put the bag in . So far they are working great !
Put these on my 2020 Equinox, it has a tow package and pulls my little Wildwood trailer just fine but with this airliift system it feels SOOOO much more stable!! It drives much less ‘mushy’ and handling is a dream. These are simple to install, perfect product for pulling with a light duty SUV, I am extremely impressed.
I was replacing the same setup that I installed in 2007 it held air until last year Had to drop the rear axle to install but once everything is in place it work perfectly it's held air for a year would recommend placing as many of the fittings and the air input valve inside the truck they will last much longer
Fit my 2019 Toyota Senna AWD perfectly. Easy to install. didn't even have to disconnect exhaust hanger as instructed. instead i used a 1/2 drive universal joint with sockets to access bolt holes on passenger side. I pull a 2500lb boat or a 2000lb trailer with no problems. I use 15 to 30 lbs air pressure to keep level. i used two valves and separate air for each bag. I didn't want it shifting in long turns. I highly recommend and would buy again....
Overall, a surprisingly great benefit for very little cost and a little effort. Took some time to install (no harder than anticipated), the videos were very helpful. I struggled to get the connections all airtight, always had a slight leak. However, still saw a benefit to my suspension and ride, even when not towing. For our 2019 Pathfinder, where the "tow weight" is definitely a little fudged, these where a big help.
I put the Airlift 1,000 kit on our Suburban LT 1500 which has a towing package on it to enhance the vehicles ability to lessen frost heaves on our Alaskan highways while towing our travel trailer. The air shocks of the towing package although heavy duty were stressed out on trips down the Alcan. The new airbags are working just fine and were easy to install. After ordering the kit, it arrived within the week. The instructions were easy to follow.
After installing I was very happy with the performance of the Air Lift kit.
A few notes I will highlight to help with install:
-When using the template, the hole is closer to the inside of the center of the van.
-Use a Step Drill bit to cut the hole in the lower control arm. I got mine from HF.
-Route the air hoses thru the lower control arms and zip tie them up along the rear subframe
-I sprayed with air bags with Lithium grease to keep any noises from occurring
-3d printed a bracket to hold the fittings on my rear hitch
I knew going into this, this was going to be a pain to install. After 5 hours, I had to call a friend who was a mechanic to come over and help get the bags into the springs. We finally read enough reviews where people said to heat up the bags a little, fold them and zip tie them. This worked! But.....Here we are, they've been installed, traveled over 2000 miles with them in and let me tell you, the noise! OMG THE NOISE! Every bump, dip, hell - I think just for the fun of it - my car squeaks like a 1970's Cadi! I've used multiple Teflon lubricants, Bearings Grease and other various lubricants. NO, I didn't use WD40. You can hear me coming down the road the noise is that loud. I called Airlift as instructed and they advised me that they're not even showing that these are a match for my car although Etrailer does. The tech that I spoke to told me that if I've driven that much, with and without loads, adjusted the PSI (which I have. I've gone from 5-35psi as instructed. No matter where I am sitting, it is loud! For someone who is tone sensitive with high PTSD and ADHD/OCD - this is not working. Airlift said that there's a 60 day ride approval. I don't approve as I've gotten to the point that I don't even want to drive my 2025 car! Instead, I've been driving a 2005 van if I need to go to the store or anything. I've truly tried to let these be the savior of my needs, but I think I'm going to just bite the bullet and get a Gladiator or Ram.
Works great on my 2000 Lexus LX470. I installed these to supplement my AHC deleted suspension. These were installed with Land Cruiser rear springs. Instructions were easy to follow. Routed separate air lines (did not use the y connector) above the frame and fitted the valves into existing holes on the bumper. Run them at 8-10 psi when I have gear in cargo area. Holds air perfectly.
These air springs are one of the best investments you can make if you have a 4XE Wrangler. The battery pack is so heavy, I am finding after a couple of years the factory springs are getting too spongy and the body lean is more noticeable on the road especially cornering. Plus when you go over larger bumps the body sway is much more noticeable. I looked into an air spring set up but did not really want to spend several thousand dollars and I was surprised when I came across this set for under $[XX]. I was sceptical but thought, why not. They arrived in a small box and I was even more doubtful but when I opened it and took out the kit, I was impressed with the quality of the materials. I followed the instructions (with a few exceptions) and found them to be very easy to install. If you take your time with routing the air lines over the factory heat shields and carefully bring them to the rear drivers side, you can install them using the t connector. You can drill a hole through the thin part of the bumper right beside the license plate. There is just enough air line included to do this. The Schrader valve seats perfectly and makes it very convenient to add or bleed air from the system with only one adjustment. I set the springs at 12 psi and coupled with my after market adjustable shocks, I can make my Wrangler so smooth it feels more like a European SUV than a Jeep. Excellent product.
I purchased this product for some additional support for our Hummer H2 when we are towing our travel trailer. I removed the springs for easier installation of each bag.
I am 66 years old and total time from start to completion was 3 1/2 hours from set up to clean up !

Just install them support and raise very well but of course these aren't really easy to install takes a lot of patience and hand strength

Very difficult to install as you have to push the bag through the coil of the springs. Once you get through that it is not so difficult. You need to make sure the tubing is tight on barb fittings and secured. It hold pressure great and I did notice a big improvement in ride Quality but it didn’t help with the squat after connecting up the trailer, that remained fairly unchanged. These did prevent the “bouncing” of the Acadia caused by the trailer and helped greatly with control.

they were installed within a few days of receiving i was told it was tuff to run air lines so they would be out of harms way not sure if that was true as i can not walk bend well enough to check them out but they have worked great i carry a scooter with tray about 450lbs total made a big difference
